Vision

What is the philosophy from which Nedanza works?

Contact, Context and Compassion are core concepts for therapy.

Contact

Through respect, equality and attention, we seek to make contact and open the way for comfort and healing. The philosopher Martin Buber states: 'I become myself through the other.' We are relational beings.

Context

Our focus is also on context. Which interactions are meaningful, empowering and supportive? Which relationship feels like a warm coat and which like a straitjacket?

Compassion

We believe that everyone carries the strength to grow within themselves. Compassion is a prerequisite to set that strength in motion. We don't want to 'fix' others. We strive for affirmation and self-acceptance.

Filosofie & Inspiratie

We feel at home with the ideas of the Sufi scholar and poet Rumi, the philosophers Buber and Levinas. Rumi emphasizes that without love there is no meaning. Buber speaks of life's struggle in which I and Thou meet. Levinas feels the necessity to help the 'Other', for whom he considers himself responsible.

Integratieve werkwijze

We work integratively, focusing on behavioral, cognitive, experiential and systemic therapies. Various members are trained as systemic therapists and in Rogerian counseling. We pay attention to questions about meaning and spirituality.

Teamontwikkeling

We pay great attention to the inner life of our team members. We offer all team members the internal training 'contactual therapy', based on the book by Mr. P. Pijpers. Additionally, we see supervision as a prerequisite for our team members to be close to others.
